Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, Echezeaux Grand Cru, 2009, 6x75
Approximately 45+ year old vines from two different climats, with 90% in Les Poulaillères and 10% in Clos St. Denis. A ripe, elegant, and densely fruited nose exudes notes of violets, sandalwood, anise, and dried blackberries, preceding supple, rich, and attractively voluminous flavours that retain a fine sense of underlying detail. The finish is wonderfully intense, persistent, and quite firm. An absolutely stunning wine, on par with the genuinely remarkable 2005.
